A GLOBAL CALAMITY
It’s academic that thought creates electricity which then generates a magnetic field. This creates our reality. Every cell of our being, in fact, creates an electromagnetic field that is constantly attracting to it electromagnetic radiation from our environment. Our bodies, thus, are electrical conduits in this way. But what are we attracting to us through this phenomenon?
Everything that uses electrical energy in our world today produces electromagnetic fields. This includes, among others, cell phones, microwave ovens, television and radio broadcasts, computers, and all wireless forms of communication. Electromagnetic radiation is a wave of energy passing through every cell of our bodies every second of the day. These frequencies are comprised of sub-particles known as electrons and photons, and photons are essentially packets of information that are binary in nature. Some of the photons are coherent and some are random, and it’s the random photons that create the havoc in our bodies. If all electromagnetic fields produced coherent photons, we’d be in bliss all the time by the waves emitted from our electrical friends – but they aren’t. The human body was not designed to withstand the assault of this much random electromagnetic energy being attracted to it and through it constantly. The random photons contain a lot of noise and random sub-particle energy, and they create enormous stress in the human bio-energy field, which is a field of light-encoded information. Every cell and molecule, not just of the body, but of our entire energetic being has a bio-energy field – or a literal holographic morphogenic image of energy that some call our “light bodies” – and this bio-energy field has a physical light substance that defines our individual and collective realities. The photons comprising this holographic image carry the information and instructions for the light structure, the memory of what it is and what it needs to do, along with the potential of what it can create, and this interplay literally holds our physical reality in place. But the daily electromagnetic assault of the random photonic particles flowing through us disrupts the function of the cohesive photons that hold our realities in place. The result is that our light bodies which determine our realties and, in fact our very destinies, are being continually scrambled and utterly goofed up by the technology in our environment.
So what does this all mean? It means that our bodies are enduring more and more electromagnetic stress and it is triggering profound emotional reactions in most of the population, and when the emotions become overwhelmed beyond containment we go into survival mode. This is PTSD.
Our eyes and our pineal glands are most susceptible to the electromagnetic radiation, and this is very problematic. The pineal gland, of course, controls the hormonal balances in the body, and when the pineal gland is stressed the production of melatonin diminishes. Melatonin functions to regulate healthy sleep patterns, it aids our immune system in targeting and metabolizing chemicals in the body, and it helps the body locate abnormal cell growth in the body (cancer cells, for instance). For those of you who have done work with Source Legacy, you also know that the Seeding Cell is located in the pineal gland, and this master cell that feeds information to ALL cells in the body is affected as well when the pineal gland is under assault. The result is that most people on the planet, certainly in this country, are dealing in some minor or major way with a form of PTSD because of the electromagnetic assault we face each day in the modern world.
There is, of course, a symbiotic relationship with the planet upon which our physical realities are taking place, and Mother Earth is in the midst of her own electromagnetic challenges right now.
While there is much debate as to exactly what is going to culminate with humanity in 2012, most scientists agree that during the 150 years that humans have been measuring the Earth’s magnetic field, it has been dropping in strength, possibly toward a reversal of the planet’s magnetic poles. For those of us who have been working in the world of metaphysics, this possible geomagnetic reversal of north and south is not news; we’ve been working frontally to deal with this advent for several decades now. Geological records are clear that this happens (depending on which sources you turn to) approximately every 250,000 years – however it has been (again, according to the sources you rely on) about 750,000 years since the last reversal occurred, which makes us well overdue for such an event. Other sources say that it isn’t the Earth’s poles that will shift upcoming, but the sun’s. Whatever the case, the diminishing of Mother Earth’s magnetic field to a “zero point” is likewise part of the geomagnetic reversal should that be her fate, so this isn’t the alarming part of this story historically.
The deeply troubling part of this story is that NASA satellites detected in 2008 two large holes in the Earth’s magnetosphere, which is the region around the planet that shields us from severe solar storms and severe weather from space. The Earth’s magnetic field carves out a cavity in the sun’s onrushing field, thus buffeting the gale-force solar winds and particles like a wind sock.
However, these holes (or cracks, or leaks – again depending on your source) are defying previously held ideas by scientists on how the interaction between Earth’s magnetosphere and solar wind occurs. The holes are allowing solar wind (a stream of charged particles spewing from the sun) to penetrate the Earth’s upper atmosphere at one million miles per hour, with ten or twenty times more particles coming through than expected. The calculation is that a layer of solar particles 4,000 miles thick (or more by now) has collected in the outermost part of the Earth’s magnetosphere, the largest tear of the protective shield found so far.
This interplay between the sun’s geomagnetic storms and the Earth magnetosphere are in no way new; it’s probably been occurring for as long as the sun has been around. The problem is that scientists anticipate an unusually intense eleven-year solar cycle, the first sunspot of which appeared in the sun’s northern hemisphere in early 2008 and had already increased by later 2008. German scientists tell us the sun has been in a frenzy since 1940 and, according to NASA, our sun will reach its most active state in recorded history when the next 11-year solar maximum peaks in 2012. Both the sun's magnetic field and the Earth's magnetic field can be oriented northward or southward, and Jimmy Raeder, a physicist with the University of New Hampshire, predicted a more intense solar cycle because the Earth's and the sun's magnetic fields will be in sync at the cycle's peak, expected in 2012, causing an unusually high influx of solar particles.
So here’s the awful calamity: We’ve been unknowingly building an energetic infrastructure (our power grids) that is essentially acting more and more like an antenna for geomagnetic storms. In other words, the power grid infrastructure we created and employ for the Earth’s power is actually attracting the geomagnetic storms to us – all at a time when the Earth’s magnetosphere is inordinately and severely compromised. And astronomers predict that the way the sun’s polarity will flip in 2012 will make it point exactly the way we don’t want it to in terms of violating the Earth’s magnetic field. It’s potentially an astonishingly bad set of coincidences.
NASA assembled researchers in 2008 to investigate this problem and their report, entitled “Severe Space Weather Events – Understanding Societal and Economic Impacts” described the consequences of solar flares unleashing waves of energy that could disrupt Earth’s magnetic field, overwhelming high-voltage transformers with vast electrical currents and short-circuiting energy grids. The panel concluded that such a catastrophe would cost the United States "$1 trillion to $2 trillion in the first year" and "full recovery could take 4 to 10 years." That would, of course, be just a fraction of global damages in the worst case scenario.
So what does any or all of this mean? It means our technology is compromising both the magnetic fields of the human body AND the planet – with potentially catastrophic results for both. It’s a totally symbiotic relationship, remember? We did it first to ourselves, and then we did it to the planet. WE are deep in the thick of self-induced post traumatic stress because of what we have created and Mother Earth is deeply in post traumatic stress because of what we have created.
So what on earth can we do about this? We address it at the level where it began: First within ourselves. I believe the government is scrambling to address this issue at the planetary level, but no one is talking about what we can do about it for ourselves at the individual human level.
We know PTSD is at an all-time high among our global population: veterans who have managed to survive the various wars erupting constantly around the planet may have come home with their bodies intact (partially or in whole), but their psyches and emotions are split and fractured, and they are in deep trouble because of it – in many cases debilitated beyond the ability to function well in daily life. And it’s not just the veterans; I believe it’s nearly everyone. PTSD is undeniably out of control on this planet right now – just ask the medical and insurance industries who are overwhelmed trying to find solutions to address this epidemic.
To begin addressing this for ourselves, we have to understand how it’s happening. It’s not just the random photons from our technology disrupting our magnetic fields and crashing our pineal glands that is to blame (although that is a very large part of it); it is also the imagery of destruction that our very human eyes have recorded into our brain and the dialogues we’ve accepted into our minds that have traumatized us. Think how powerful those images of 9/11 were/are not just on the American psyche, but the global psyche. That day ushered in a completely new era with a new and ominous fear that not too many of us ever really considered before: terrorism. And we’ve been inundated with it from every media outlet since and from our officials, now onto a decade. It has had a powerfully destructive effect on our thoughts and emotions as it began to dominate almost all facets of our lives, from how we travel to the world economy. These traumas, along with all the traumas we’ve endured in our personal lives, are recorded in the brain within the amygdala.
The amygdala lies just above the hypothalamus in the brain and is part of the limbic system which is responsible for processing emotions and memories, and it particularly gets totally absorbed in managing our response to fear and stress. It is the basal part of the brain which, when injured in some way, can cause changes in aggressiveness and other emotional behavior. The amygdala is the brain’s built-in automatic response system (often called “the lower mind”) that triggers a fight or flight reaction based upon an event. The amygdala’s job is to determine how to respond to an emergency or heightened emotional situation by producing large amounts of neuro-hormones such as adrenaline, cortisol, and endorphins (among others), to facilitate the survival task at-hand.
In addition to interpreting incoming sensory information, the amygdala is involved particularly with processing memories with emotional impact, as well as processing rage, anger, agression, phobias, traumatic responses, and endocrine functions. The interplay between the amygdala and the cerebral cortex is such that the amygdala may respond before the thinking part of our brain has had an opportunity to compose a response, thereby reverting again and again to old responses created by the original trauma.
Many in the field of brain study believe that genuine post-traumatic stress disorder is mediated by the amygdala. These invasive memories of trauma tend to become more powerful because they are recorded in the brain while the person is open and vulnerable in a heightened state of awareness when the stress hormones and neurotransmitters are firing wildly. These hormones interfere with the function of the hippocampus, and the typical PTSD patient will experience only fragments of the experience (flashbacks), but with the full impact of the original emotion. These flashbacks are triggered by things associated with the original event – a phrase, a picture, a smell, a sound, a facial expression, etc. – and the result is that the individual perpetuates and relives the trauma over and over and over again inside the brain when the external circumstance may not be in any way threatening or traumatizing or necessarily similar or related to the original trauma. The original trauma literally rewires the brain so that the individual cannot hear or interpret what is happening correctly when confronted with the trigger. The final result is that the brain pattern remains in place and begins to dominate and, often, disable the person’s life.
Responses of varying degrees of anger are legion in PTSD. When the individual is triggered to anger, the amygdala’s fight or flight responses divert the mind’s resources in order to keep the anger churning – which means that when the brain is most in need of logic to correctly perceive a situation and deal with it, the amygdala forces the brain to rationalize the anger, keeping the norepinephrine (the hormone compelling “fight-or-flight” responses) flowing. The tragedy in this is that the human psyche has a deep need for a coherent self-concept, and so the traumatized individual often cannot reconcile the explosive self with the peace-loving self they know they really are, which creates further splits in the mind and the emotions, often resulting in nearly total social disconnects in the most extreme cases. It sets the foundation for the most vicious catch-22.
People with bi-polar disorder are seen to have larger amygdalae (there are actually two: one in each hemisphere of the brain), which is why they are terrorized and disabled by enormous amounts of fear a good deal of the time. Damage or malfunctions in the amygdala, as well as neurotransmitter imbalance, or developmental problems can be reasons for abnormal functioning of the amygdala and, in extreme cases, can result in violent psychopathic behaviors.
This is the home of PTSD: the amygdala, the lower mind, or as some call it, the reptilian brain. I’ve provided a simple formula below to assist with the troubled amygdala for those who want practical and easily do-able solutions to a very destructive problem.
PROCESS:
A few months ago while I was winding down and watching television late, late at night (as I often do; I’m a night owl and I’m usually up very late writing or working) the Three Wise Men made an appearance in my bedroom and asked to speak with me; they were very serious and had a sense of urgency in their demeanor and so I turned off the television and sat to hear them. They asked me to get pen and paper to transcribe to their specifications a formula they were about to give me, which I was to begin taking internally immediately: a formula comprised of gold, frankincense and myrrh. I asked them why they arrived so urgently to have me take this, but they offered no explanation. “Just take it,” they instructed. I asked how long I was to take the formula and I was told to watch how it worked in my body and I would know how long to take it.
I then asked them why they had brought these particular gifts to Christ at his birth and they said “because it was all he would ever need, and would be useful when he most needed it.” Nothing more was said; I admit that I didn’t know what the heck that meant. Nor did they say another word; they simply stayed present with me until I fell asleep. When I got up in the morning I burned rubber getting to the Herb Store to pick up the tinctures. I prepared the formula as I was instructed and took it immediately thereafter. And I have to tell you, most earnestly and sincerely, with no hyperbole, my life literally changed within a day of beginning this formula. In a single day I felt like I had my life back.
You see, I do know something about this process of trauma I’ve detailed in the newsletter above. I was in a form of deep trauma myself at the time and simply could not break free of the patterns it had created in my mind; it was literally beginning to consume my days and me along with it. I had prior to this experienced in my life what I perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be a deep, scarring personal betrayal, and my mind kept wanting to process it in order that I could understand what happened so that I could reach resolution and move on – but I could not seem to accomplish that even with the magnificent tools life has offered me and even with the gifts I have been given to work with. I was admittedly stuck, and I knew it. This formula is what helped me turn the corner to a different state of being, and I’ve since been able to help a number of other people suffering from varying forms of emotional trauma with this particular information.
What I didn’t know at the time (but later discovered as I watched it work in my brain and body) was that this formula given to me works effectively on dislodging and voiding the blocks in the brain pathways that create post traumatic stress disorder at the seat of where they lodge: in the amygdala. And it works. And so I’d like to share that formula with you:
INGREDIENTS:
· Gold Water
· Frankincense tincture extract from the gum resin (medicinally known as Boswellia)
· Myrrh tincture extract from the gum resin
WATER PREPARATION:
Take any piece of solid gold (a ring, necklace, coin – but it must be solid gold, nothing gold-plated), wash it well, boil it in a half gallon of purified water in a stainless steel pot for 10 minutes, transferring it then to a glass jar to be put in a windowsill for a full 24-hour period exposed to sunlight and then moonlight. Then the water is ready.
DOSAGES:
When the water is ready, add a minimum of 300 milligrams of the Boswellia tincture to 8 ounces of the water, and then add 100 milligrams of the Myrrh tincture to the water, stir and drink. (Since these are gum resins, choose a glass that you don’t mind getting ruined; the gum resins with ruin the glass. Prepare more water as needed.)
You MUST do this three times per day for the duration; it WILL NOT WORK if you take it once a day or even twice a day; it must be THREE TIMES A DAY in accordance with the above dosages. The body must absorb this mixture in this way. I was instructed to observe how it worked in the body to determine how long I would need to take this and so I suggest the same for you. I took it faithfully for two weeks precisely as I was told, I took a week off, then I took it for two more weeks. You may be guided to a different duration; follow your instincts or your gut – but I might like to suggest at least a two-week run to begin with.
Now, let’s talk for a moment about what the Boswellia (Frankincense) actually accomplishes in the body (I had to research this to understand for myself). It:
· lowers cholesterol levels
· reduces inflammation in the gut and blood
· reduces the frequency of asthma attacks and aids asthma patients in breathing better
· reduces the inflammation associated with osteo-arthritis
· helps relieve ulcerated colitis
· reduces the inflammation associated with psoriasis and other skin disorders
· prevents destruction of cartilage and helps repair it
· locates cancer cells in the body and directs them to commit suicide
· reduces inflammation and pain in the body
Since I wasn’t suffering from any of the above pathologies, I had to energetically observe what it was doing in my body; I trusted that the Wise Men would not have made such a visit with such specific instructions for nothing. Just like it locates cancer cells in the body and directs them to commit suicide, so I observed it located cancerous thought forms and directed them to commit suicide (the anger, rage, revenge, judgment, etc., that is the by-product of trauma and that creates the blocks in the brain’s amygdala). And I must tell you, again most sincerely, that it broke the blocks in my brain that had been keeping me in my particular episode of PTSD. It literally changed my life. (As a post-script, I researched these herbs fairly in-depth over the initial two weeks I took them and none of the test cases I read reported any side effects and no contra-indications with other medicines). I observed that the Gold and the Myrrh were useful complimentary balancers for the Frankincense (Boswellia).
I have since been using this formula with my clients suffering from PTSD and bi-polar disorders in conjunction with the information presented in the above newsletter and with a series of more expanded energetic processes that address the clearing of the electromagnetic maladies (also discussed above) – but the formula alone does a wondrous job of getting down to those ugly brain patterns that cause PTSD to be so maddeningly inescapable and imprisoning. (For those who might want to approach that energetic work as a compliment to this formula, I have an in-depth and highly penetrating process to assist in healing the damaged electro-magnetic fields of the body, the pineal gland, and the amygdala to begin the journey out of PTSD and back into function living; feel free to contact us in that case. We have seen some startling shifts in those processes and I certainly welcome that.)
When we free the amygdala of deep-seated trauma, we unblock the brain’s pathways and responses. Then the quality of our thoughts are better able to change and we emit more positive brainwaves to create an electromagnetic field that starts attracting to us more positive things in our lives – we literally begin changing the body’s bio-energy field (our “light bodies”) to be in greater alignment with the destiny of our souls, and our realities shift entirely. When we do that and unite in kind and positive thought and prayer one-to-the-other, we can help heal the magnetic problems facing Mother Earth as she makes this tenuous journey to whatever it is that facilitates her destiny. Maybe it is modern technology that has created those gaping holes in the planet’s magnetosphere, or maybe it is our collective rage bound in intractable trauma that is the cause. Whatever the case, I believe we as a collective have the power (once free of trauma) to change the frequency of thought on this planet to assist in repairing what we helped break.
May this formula help free those of you who’ve found yourself stuck in old mental loops from trauma of whatever brand just as it did me. And I hope you’ll feel compelled to share this newsletter and process with as many people as you think might benefit from it. So many people in this country are in some manner of mild or profound PTSD following 9/11 (with all that horrible imagery of the collapsing towers that we had to endure and the terrorist fears that have followed) whether they know it or not, and Mother Earth is quite literally at the brink of destruction if we do not take some kind of powerful action fast. It truly is up to us.
With love and sincerest blessings to you all,
Ron

SUMMER, 2010 Heart Mind Connection Volume 1, Number 1

LETTING PEOPLE CHANGE
Spring has come and gone, now, having carried us safely into this extraordinary and exuberant Summer season – with both seasons signalling deep rebirth and renewal and then resplendent bloom for Mother Earth and the benevolent forces of nature that govern this wondrous but imperiled planet. In human terms, the these seasons contain the promise of yearly transformation and renewal at both physical and spiritual levels (the Easter season coincides with spring because its inherent message, Christianity’s specific agendas aside, is likewise symbolic for the transfiguration process that is possible for human beings).
This year, particularly, there has been a tremendous amount of focus and expectation surrounding the Easter/Spring/Summer season among aware thinkers in spiritual, metaphysical and philosophical circles because of what is possible at this time. Change is all around us and it’s happening so quickly that many are having difficulty adjusting to the constant changes and shifts and, often, feeling either left behind or exhausted in the foot race to keep up.
There’s no question that Mother Earth is in the midst of grand changes for herself, many of which are compelled by the habits, resistance and consumption of the human race. She is changing and evolving and adapting because of us and we, in return, are being forced to re-evaluate our relationship to her and her needs. It’s a symbiotic relationship that is purely and completely inescapable, though many are just now waking up to this fact. We are part of this change whether we want to admit it or not and burying our heads in the sand is not really an option at this point.
It’s pretty hard to turn a blind eye to that awesome collection of plastic two miles deep and twice the size of Texas floating out in the ocean from trash we’ve discarded into rivers and lakes and streams that have ended up there; as it breaks down it ends up in the food supply of marine life which, in turn, ends up in our food supply (only one of a number of grave planetary concerns we might face because of it). How about the sudden and alarming disappearance of the amphibians from the planet? Frogs are literally disappearing across the globe and the result on the ecosystems, especially in rain forest areas, can be catastrophic. Algae overgrowth is already clogging and toxifying many of those waterways without the frogs and tadpoles there to eat and manage it. Manmade emissions of carbon dioxide are making our oceans more acidic — and thus threatening corals and shellfish — at a rate unseen in at least 800,000 years. "Oysters have gone extinct in many areas, especially in North America, Australia and Europe," said David Garrison, director of the National Science Foundation's biological oceanography program. How about the Ogallala Aquifer which underlies parts of eight states, stretching 174,000 square miles from South Dakota to Texas? The largest portions of the aquifer are found within Nebraska, Texas, and Kansas, with smaller portions found in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wyoming. It’s drying up and becoming toxic. Estimates are that withdrawal rates are 10 to 50 times greater than recharge rates. Infiltration of agricultural chemicals and excess nitrogen from fertilizers has resulted in groundwater pollution of parts of the High Plains Aquifer. In addition, toxic chemicals from industry and military sites are contaminating the aquifer. When we ruin this, what shall we do about our crops and drinking water? The same is happening in India: The fields of barley, rice and wheat that feed much of India are running out of water, according to a new study based on satellite data. The Indus River plain aquifer lost 109 cubic kilometers of water between August 2002 and October 2008. The bees are disappearing, too, and there is tremendous concern as to what this could mean for plant life on this planet.
And what can one possibly say about that catastrophe in the gulf except maybe just to weep?
It’s not just at ecological levels where startling changes are occurring – look around at society: our economy is shifting and changing in ways that appear to be extremely unstable to most, affecting our properties, our holdings, and our very way of life. It’s happening in the Universe, too. Scientists are observing a speed-up in the expansion of the Universe that they believe will eventually tear apart the Milky Way Galaxy, our solar system and, finally, even atoms. It could be billions of years before this ultimate scenario occurs, of course, but what does it all mean? It means that change is occurring at every level in our midst and we need to personally catch up or we risk being left behind in the dust. We can fight the flow of these dramatic and vast changes everywhere we look and cause a kind of immobility and “death” in ourselves, or we can let go the resistance and fear and decide to embrace ultimate change for ourselves as a personal mission and destiny.
Clearly, our world is changing so quickly around us that the split between what was and what can be is undeniable now; only moth-eaten threads hold the old to the new, and we are the only answer for what will occur within our infrastructure when those final threads give way. Aware human beings already are providing that safety net of consciousness for this advent, and we become a greater and more integral part of the Universe and Mother Earth’s plan if we get on now to the last patterns that lure us constantly out of the now where all things actually accomplished in reality occur. The “now” is where we break patterns.
This is the chance to say goodbye to all the ugly patterns that have kept our focus in a lower world, and everyone is exhausted from the struggles of this lower world. There is a window of time here at-hand, and light souls across the Universe are calling, supporting and insisting, and this is that moment we always knew would come when we’d have the opportunity to redefine who we are in the way we always knew we could. It’s here. But with SO many changes facing us daily now, where do we even begin to start?
I realize for some that breaking these oldest patterns might seem like an insurmountable task, for some it might feel inconceivable; our patterns have, after all, been our security blanket all through time when life felt the most loveless and coldest and most abandoning. It’s why we developed the patterns – to try to protect ourselves from that harshness, and everyone’s core protective patterns are different depending on the person’s sensitivities. Some people intimidate, some interrogate, some strategize, some manipulate, some avoid, some lie, some hide, some analyze, some confront, some divide, some gossip, some simply cut people off and either judge or isolate – but all cease to be effective means where we’re headed. These patterns haven’t worked very well lately, anyway, but that hasn’t stopped folks from reverting to them. The old patterns developed in a time of fear will not work for the frequencies this planet is getting grounded in now, and there’s likely to be a scarier and scarier response in the body until we are able to resonate harmoniously with the new flows and release the patterns inside that even caused us to know how to harm the planet to the degree we have to begin with.
Society’s patterns are no longer working and they are disintegrating right before our eyes, Mother Earth’s patterns are clearly in major transition and, likewise, we are each individually faced with our patterns which, in truth, puts us at the precipice of being able to make shifts in consciousness that may never before have been possible, if we choose, so that old destructive patterns no longer exist for us. It really is possible. It all begins, though, with each of us deciding that our lives are worth living and then addressing those patterns in our lives that have kept us living continually without reverence and worth (and living with or without worth doesn’t necessarily have to do with our bank accounts).
Patterns seem like behemoths in our lives right now, shadowing over us like great scary demons, and if you believe the six-o’clock news, there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot out there that looks too terribly inspiring to compel a shift in consciousness. There is a constant media reinforcement of these destructive patterns (addiction is at an all-time high, especially in this country). This is why the disconnect folks are allowing by escaping onto the internet and into texting and Twittering and Facebook-ing and farther and farther away from functional contact with each other is incredibly worrisome to me. It may appear that folks are connecting more fervently than ever, but are we really? It doesn’t look or feel that way to me; to me it feels like human beings are becoming more and more distanced from one another with the very implements designed to open greater dialogues. There is a reason to be making human contact with each other right now, and it’s very important.
Listen, it’s wonderful to have the technology we have; in some ways it does connect us all as never before and there’s no question that we have greater access to information because of it. And technology continues to help save lives the world over; again, no question. But while technology is a vital tool for the improvement and comfort of our lives, it should not BE life itself – and for some it is. The technological medium provides a chiefly cerebral form of contact that is best served for specific purposes – not a substitute for actual human dialogue. I’m amazed sometimes how people speak to each other in public anymore – or not. I don’t think people are becoming necessarily less kind, I think we’re generally becoming more desensitized and disconnected. In truth, we actually came here to do these things in person. OMG and LOL ultimately don’t really cut the mustard when it comes to making authentic contact from the heart in truly loving and artful ways (and good communication is an art), and that’s what we came here to do. That chiefly.
In order to make a change, we have to create a reconnection out of disconnectedness. It is imperative that we reconnect to what is real about our lives, and the only thing that is ever real is in the moment, not in the past and not in the future. What is real is occurring right now and only right now.
There’s a very sage quote that says: “Suffering is the resistance to what is.” What this quote really means is “suffering is the resistance to being in the moment” because the only thing that “is” lies in the moment. You might add to that by saying “suffering results from living in the past or daydreaming in futures that haven’t happened yet.” I’ve especially observed in the spiritual community that once folks figure out how to open their third eyes and work with them, they become for a time psychic nosey-rosies, looking at everything in the past and the future with not much personal responsibility (or permission from those they psychically invade) and sometimes a near-obsessive attempt to control past and, especially, future events. Neither the past nor the future occur in the present where life occurs. Only here and now can we make real and authentic shifts in our lives, and all the patterns we’ve developed to facilitate this disconnect and all their tools are the issues many folks face right now.
Change is not possible if we hold on in any way to what was. We know this, and yet some struggle desperately with the slings and arrows of what brought them to their place of personal collapse. But holding those dogged rags from the past means we hold all that pain continuously in the now and it recreates for us the very same distress it did then. Since our minds don’t know the difference between what is really happening in front of us and what we imagine to happen, it stays busy sending all these signals of conflict and survival over and over again through the body, leaving the body in a state of nearly constant trauma. Then we cannot reason, we cannot hear, we cannot connect, and we certainly cannot create. The decision to let go past and future is key; if you’re there in your mind all day, you aren’t living your life. You’re disconnecting in some way and cheating some miracle that could happen for you in the present.
To my eye, living both in the past and the future are attempts to control something – either in resolving something that did happen or in attempting to create some result in the things yet to come. But what are we attempting to control? Well, we’re trying to control the feeling of pain or potential pain, I’d say.
Pain is a tricky one. I’ve noticed some people are addicted to it, and others spend their lives running from it. And often all it takes is simply acknowledging it to make a lifetime of pain go away.
Forgiveness, then, becomes an obvious component in the process. My students know that I talk about forgiveness in terms of a virulent battle of tug-of-war between two people with a trembling rope held between them taut with intense exertion and struggle happening at both ends. Only a little give here and a little pull there. The issues of unresolved conflict in our lives are like that rope, with a white-knuckled hand clutched to each end pulling for dear life, each participant unwilling to give in and let go. But here’s the miracle: It takes only ONE person to decide to let go of that rope and the conflict is over. We have only authority over our end of the rope; the other person can continue to engage and tug but it will be just a personal struggle then, not a dual engagement. Forgiveness is that choice to let go and then actually doing it.
Once we regain our energies from the struggle, really aware people with an eye toward the principles of Universal dynamics and cause and effect finally come to understand that we ourselves co-create whatever conflict had us pulling on one end of that rope. This awareness ends the rule of the victim within, of course, because we realize our power to create the situations in our lives, our power to actually manifest the people necessary to facilitate our issues, traumas and dramas. This can give us a greater perspective of our power and help us understand that the same power of choice which had us tugging frantically at the rope can be the same power of choice allowing us to let it go.
That’s the first stage. The second stage is being willing to let the person who held the other end of that rope decide to change, too, even if it still looks like they’re holding the rope. We do them a humanly disservice to never forget the picture of them with the rope in their hands and the savage look of willfulness in their eyes as they pulled with all their might against us. But guess what? They saw the same horrible sight in our eyes while we held the rope in opposition to them. It wasn’t pretty on either side. We cannot change if we refuse to let others change, too. All is one, remember? If we deny others the right to change (by continuing to embrace what they once did to us), we ourselves are denied the right to change. Change is a holistic proposition.
Again, we forget the power we have to create in our lives and relationships. I cannot tell you how many relationships I see right now that are on some manner of unstable ground because they’re bogged down to near collapse by the people in those relationships who desire a change in the partnering dynamics but cannot allow the other person to actually shift, too. It is such a temptation to isolate even in intimate relationships right now because we’ve asked for change too many times without seeing it materialize. We mustn’t lose faith in each other that such a thing can happen in our relationships, though. Whatever we may feel they did to us, how they treated or responded to us, how they judged us – whatever (outside of a truly abusive situation where the individual is best to leave) – is all happening in the past. Clinging to old wounds and walking with those scars through our daily relationships helps recreate the same old mistrust and distress that traumatized us before, and this recreates the same old environment where the other person always feels guilty, always feels like they have done something wrong, are always in trouble, are always walking on egg shells, and pretty soon people absent themselves from the relationships in an attempt to find something inside that feels like peace. Lots of men, especially, evacuate to what I call “the garage society,” shutting down, disconnecting, and escaping inside and away from life (“the Bubble” as one of my students calls it). Not only does connected communication tend to stop at this phase, so I’ve noticed does the sex in the relationship. And then the couple effectively becomes brother and sister instead of husband and wife (or mother and son, or father and daughter – adapt it to your circumstance), and the partnership devolves into a whole other direction of confusing emotional pathology.
Isolation isn’t the key, either. It’s all about being present in the moment and choosing 1) to give ourselves the permission to let go the old and live in a new space and then 2) choosing to grant the other person freedom to also let the past go and find a new space to live in. When both participants feel they have the honest permission to be free of past deeds and actions, a miraculous thing starts to happen: relationships heal and people find themselves falling in love with their partner all over again. And that’s as it should be.
Think about this statistic: The typical adult spends, on an average, 92% of his/her mental energy in defending, justifying, protecting, or proving his/her self-image and story. This means that most adults have only 8% of their mental energy left over to simply be present and engaged in the loving moment, while 92% is tied up in a past that is dead or a future that isn’t real. It’s no wonder our relationships have been failing as couples race to counseling to express how absent their partners are.
If we can create the awareness to be mindful, to observe how our minds work and what they focus on, we then have the power of choice to decide to keep our restless minds out of the past and out of the future and in the present where the world of the living dwells. Remember: “Suffering is the resistance to what is.” The only thing that actually “is” resides in the now, in this moment. If we’re out of the moment, we’ve lost contact with ourselves, with those we love, and we’ve lost the contact with the living world where God is simply everywhere we look and in everything we see and feel.
PROCESS:
In order to be fully present in the moment, it’s extremely helpful to have a sense of grounded connection to our own soul alignment (little children tend to have this alignment intact naturally).
First, call on Highest Divine Source (whatever you conceive that to be in your paradigm) to assist you in raising your heart frequency to the frequency appropriate for your Highest Divine purpose. If you have vision and can see the energy, this raised heart frequency should for most people begin to take on vivid hues of pink and ruby. Then ask Highest Divine Source to assist you in grounding your heart in an impermeable alignment with the highest heart frequencies of Mother Earth and Highest Divine Source (again, whatever you conceive that to be). This is your daily grounding, best done each morning before you embark upon the activity of your day.
Then, throughout your day, when you find your mind wandering to thoughts of the past or the future or to scenarios that haven’t happened, decide to see that thought trail as a mental tentacle attempting to reach outside yourself to something unreal. Call back that mental “tentacle” from its unreal target and reground it back in your being in the now, in reality, and then bring back all your will and your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical energy you had invested in that illusion, grounding and expanding it back within your being. You will have created some manner of energetic substance by sending that mental “tentacle” to the past or the future, and so you’ll need to clear that creation to Source via your alignment to be dis-created and transformed so the body can again be at peace, unafraid and engaged in the now, and so you can have your energy and focus back in the now.
That’s the process, simple as it sounds, and it absolutely works if you’ll employ it. It will change the quality of your days to keep your mind in the now where it can work in tandem with the needs of the heart.
Study of the brain has taught us that it takes only twenty-eight days to re-pattern the brain if we are mindful and disciplined about avoiding the old patterns and replacing them with something healthier and more supportive. So try this process for the month. We’ll go a bit deeper to understand how and why the ego needs desperately to lure us so continuously out of the present in our next newsletter. Until then, I’d like to leave you with a motivating quote that I keep hearing all over the place now (you’ve heard it, too): “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing each day and expecting different results.” This simple, practical process is a very effective means to help you begin stopping the insanity.
Enjoy the Summer, everyone.
With Love,
Ron
